About Us

We believe the individual impact of football players cannot be measured by vanity metrics like goals, passes, tackles won or possession. Real team players influence besides their own metrics especially their team members, their opponents and as a final output the game result directly and indirectly. This is what Football GAP is about.

Preview for the game Brentford vs Fulham

Brentford come into Gameweek 33 on the back of a five-match unbeaten league run, drawing four in a row before finally taking three points last time out for a total of 7 points from their last 5 games. Fulham have also collected 7 points over the same span, but in a more volatile pattern of two wins, two defeats and a draw. Our Plus Minus model leans towards the hosts at the Brentford Community Stadium, giving Brentford a 53% chance of victory, with the draw at 27% and Fulham at 21%. Recent head-to-head data strongly favours Fulham. They have won the last three league meetings between the sides, including 3-1 at home in September 2025 and a 3-2 away win in May 2025, while also edging a 2-1 home success in November 2024. Brentford’s last clean sheet in this fixture was a 0-0 home draw in May 2024. That run suggests Brentford’s back line, likely anchored by Nathan Michael Collins (GAP +1.9%) and Sepp van den Berg, will be under scrutiny against a Fulham attack led by Raúl Jiménez (GAP +0.1%). At the other end, Brentford’s attacking threat could hinge on the movement and direct running of Kevin Schade (GAP +3.3%) and the creativity of Mathias Jensen (GAP +1.8%), while Fulham will look for progression and ball-carrying from Alex Iwobi (GAP +0.9%) and wide threat from Harry Wilson (GAP +1.6%). Injuries and availability Brentford remain without Fabio Carvalho, who is out for the season with a knee (ACL) injury and not expected back before 1 June 2026. Antoni Milambo is also sidelined long term after knee surgery, likewise targeting a 1 June 2026 return. Midfielder Pelenda Joshua Dasilva is still working back to full match fitness after a serious knee issue and is not expected to be rushed into action. Vitaly Janelt continues to miss out with a metatarsal foot injury and is still described as weeks away, while Rico Henry is sidelined by a hamstring problem picked up in early March. Jordan Henderson is a doubt with a knock sustained on international duty and is likely to be out for a few weeks, and Aaron Hickey is only a tentative option as he returns to training following a hamstring injury. For Fulham, Harrison Reed is unavailable after a knee knock that ruled him out of the Liverpool match on 11 April. Kevin is sidelined following metatarsal surgery and may not feature again this season, while Kenny Tete remains out with an ongoing foot issue that has kept him absent since March.

What is GAP?

What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?

Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.

What is GAP?

GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
