Game Review
Inter Milan and Atalanta played out a 1-1 draw in their Serie A clash on Saturday, 14 March 2026. The result was a fair reflection of a tightly contested match, with both teams having periods of dominance but ultimately unable to secure the win. Inter Milan, playing at home, were slightly favored to win, given their strong form leading into the game. The match began with Inter Milan taking the lead in the 26th minute through Francesco Esposito, who capitalized on a defensive lapse by Atalanta. Inter's Federico Dimarco (GAP +6.2%) was instrumental in the build-up, showcasing his attacking prowess from the left flank. Despite Inter's early advantage, Atalanta remained resilient and continued to probe for an equalizer. Atalanta's persistence paid off in the 82nd minute when substitute Nikola Krstović found the back of the net, leveling the score. Krstović's introduction added a new dimension to Atalanta's attack, and his impact was immediate, as reflected in his Game Advantage Percentage (GAP +4.0%). Tactically, Inter Milan's manager made five changes during the match, bringing on Luis Henrique, Davide Frattesi, Stefan de Vrij, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Ange-Yoan Bonny. These substitutions were likely aimed at maintaining energy levels and tactical flexibility. In terms of individual performances, Yann Sommer (GAP +6.5%) was crucial for Inter Milan, making several key saves to keep his team in the match. Manuel Akanji (GAP +5.3%) also stood out in defense, providing stability against Atalanta's attacking threats. This draw leaves Inter Milan in a competitive position in the Serie A standings, as they continue to vie for a top-four finish. Atalanta, meanwhile, will be pleased with the point away from home, as it helps them maintain their mid-table stability. Both teams will look to build on this result in their upcoming fixtures as the season enters its final stretch.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
