About Us

We believe the individual impact of football players cannot be measured by vanity metrics like goals, passes, tackles won or possession. Real team players influence besides their own metrics especially their team members, their opponents and as a final output the game result directly and indirectly. This is what Football GAP is about.

Game Review

In a commanding Serie A performance, Torino triumphed over Parma with a 4-1 victory on Friday, 13 March 2026. This result was largely anticipated given Torino's recent form and their position in the league. The match began with an early strike from Giovanni Simeone (GAP -0.4%) in the 3rd minute, setting the tone for Torino's dominance. Despite a brief response from Parma's Mateo Pellegrino (GAP +0.5%) in the 20th minute, Torino maintained control throughout the game. The second half saw Torino extend their lead with goals from Emirhan İlkhan (GAP -5.4%) in the 55th minute and Mandela Keita (GAP -1.6%) just two minutes later. Duván Zapata, who came off the bench, sealed the victory with a goal in the 90th minute, showcasing Torino's depth and tactical flexibility. Torino's manager made strategic use of his substitutes, bringing in Duván Zapata, Faustino Anjorin, Sandro Kulenović, Luca Marianucci, and Matteo Prati to maintain the team's momentum. Parma, on the other hand, introduced Sascha Britschgi, Nahuell Estévez, Gaetano Oristanio, Lautaro Valenti, and Jacob Ondrejka, but these changes failed to alter the course of the match significantly. The Game Advantage Percentage (GAP) statistics highlighted Torino's superior performance, particularly through players like Ardian Ismajli (GAP +1.7%) and Alberto Paleari (GAP +0.4%), who contributed to a solid defensive display. In contrast, Parma struggled, with Oliver Sørensen (GAP -2.6%) and Christian Ordoñez (GAP -3.6%) unable to make a significant impact. This victory solidifies Torino's position in the upper half of the Serie A table, boosting their confidence as they aim for a strong finish to the season. Parma, meanwhile, will need to regroup and address their defensive vulnerabilities to improve their standing in the league.

What is GAP?

What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?

Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.

What is GAP?

GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
