Game Review
In a tightly contested Serie A encounter, Parma secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Bologna, thanks to a late goal by substitute Christian Ordoñez. The match, held on Sunday, 8 February 2026, saw both teams struggling to find their rhythm, with Bologna's early red card proving pivotal. The game took a dramatic turn in the 18th minute when Bologna's Tommaso Pobega (GAP -0.8%) was sent off, leaving his team to play with ten men for the majority of the match. Despite this disadvantage, Bologna managed to hold Parma at bay until the dying moments of the game. Parma's breakthrough came in the 90th minute when Christian Ordoñez, who came on as a substitute, found the back of the net. This decisive goal highlighted Parma's persistence and ability to capitalize on their numerical advantage. From a tactical perspective, Bologna's manager made five changes during the match, bringing in Riccardo Orsolini, Juan Miranda, Santiago Castro, Nadir Zortea, and Nicolò Cambiaghi to try and stabilize the team after the red card. However, the changes were not enough to secure a point. Parma's manager also made strategic substitutions, including the introduction of Ordoñez, which ultimately paid off. The team showed resilience, especially after Mariano Troilo received a red card in the 79th minute, leveling the playing field in terms of numbers. Lukasz Skorupski (GAP +4.5%) was a standout performer for Bologna, making several crucial saves to keep his team in the game. However, the lack of offensive threat from Bologna, exacerbated by Pobega's dismissal, meant they struggled to create clear-cut chances. This result sees Parma gaining crucial points as they look to climb the Serie A table. For Bologna, the defeat is a setback, and they will need to regroup quickly to avoid slipping further down the standings. The match highlighted the importance of discipline and the impact a single moment can have on the outcome of a game.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
