Game Review
In a Bundesliga clash on Saturday, 1899 Hoffenheim secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Union Berlin, a result that was largely anticipated given Hoffenheim's recent form. The home side, buoyed by their attacking prowess, took control of the match early on and never looked back. The game began with Hoffenheim asserting their dominance, and it was Andrej Kramarić (GAP +2.0%) who made the difference in the first half. Kramarić opened the scoring in the 42nd minute and doubled his tally just before the break in the 45th minute, giving Hoffenheim a comfortable lead at halftime. His clinical finishing was a testament to his form and importance to the team. Union Berlin attempted to mount a comeback in the second half, and their efforts were rewarded when Rani Khedira (GAP +0.7%) found the back of the net in the 68th minute. However, any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Diogo Leite (GAP +1.6%) restored Hoffenheim's two-goal cushion in the 47th minute, effectively sealing the victory for the home side. Tactically, Hoffenheim's manager made no changes to the starting lineup from their previous match, indicating a settled side that is performing well. In contrast, Union Berlin's head coach opted for a few changes, bringing in players like Ilyas Ansah and Livan Burcu, but these adjustments were unable to alter the course of the game significantly. Vladimír Coufal (GAP +5.9%) was instrumental for Hoffenheim, providing stability and creativity from the back, while Leon Avdullahu (GAP +6.9%) also impressed with his energetic display. This victory solidifies Hoffenheim's position in the upper half of the Bundesliga table, continuing their positive momentum. For Union Berlin, the defeat highlights the need to address defensive vulnerabilities as they aim to climb the standings. Post-match reactions from the Hoffenheim camp were positive, with players and staff expressing satisfaction with the team's performance and the crucial three points gained. Union Berlin, meanwhile, will need to regroup and focus on their upcoming fixtures to regain form.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
