Borussia Dortmund secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over FC Augsburg in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday, 14 March 2026. The win was largely expected given Dortmund's superior form and league position, and they delivered a professional performance to claim all three points. The match started with Dortmund asserting their dominance early on. Karim Adeyemi (GAP +1.8%) opened the scoring in the 13th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse from Augsburg. This early goal set the tone for the rest of the match, with Dortmund controlling possession and dictating the pace. In the second half, Luca Reggiani doubled Dortmund's lead in the 59th minute, ensuring the home side's grip on the game. Augsburg struggled to create significant chances, with Dortmund's defense, marshaled by Nico Schlotterbeck (GAP +2.4%), proving impenetrable. Tactically, Dortmund's manager made effective use of his substitutes, bringing on Carney Chukwuemeka, Sehrou Guirassy, Julian Brandt, Fábio Silva, and Yan Couto to maintain the team's intensity and secure the win. Augsburg's head coach also made several changes, introducing Anton Kade, Elvis Rexhbeçaj, Michael Gregoritsch, Marius Wolf, and Mert Kömür, but these adjustments failed to alter the course of the match. Gregor Kobel (GAP +5.5%) was instrumental in goal for Dortmund, making crucial saves to keep Augsburg at bay. His performance, alongside that of Julian Ryerson (GAP +3.0%), who was solid defensively, ensured Dortmund's clean sheet. This victory keeps Borussia Dortmund firmly in the hunt for a top-four finish, while Augsburg remains in the lower half of the table, needing to improve their form to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle. Dortmund's next fixtures will be crucial as they look to maintain their momentum in the Bundesliga.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
