Game Review
Sunderland pulled off a surprising victory against Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League clash at the Stadium of Light, securing a 1-0 win thanks to a second-half goal by Nordi Mukiele (GAP -0.3%). This result was unexpected given Tottenham's stronger position in the league and their recent form. The match's decisive moment came in the 61st minute when Mukiele found the back of the net, capitalizing on a well-executed set-piece. Sunderland's defensive resilience was key to maintaining their lead, as they successfully thwarted Tottenham's attempts to equalize. In terms of lineup changes, Sunderland made four alterations from their previous match. Nordi Mukiele, Reinildo Mandava, Enzo Le Fée, and Robin Roefs were brought into the starting lineup, replacing Lutsharel Geertruida, Trai Hume, Chemsdine Talbi, and Melker Ellborg. These changes seemed to inject fresh energy into the team, particularly Mukiele, who proved to be the match-winner. Tottenham, on the other hand, made five changes. Conor Gallagher (GAP +0.5%), Randal Kolo Muani (GAP -3.8%), Destiny Udogie (GAP -0.9%), Antonín Kinský, and Lucas Bergvall (GAP -0.7%) were introduced, with Kevin Danso, Guglielmo Vicario, Pape Matar Sarr, Djed Spence, and Mathys Tel making way. Despite these adjustments, Tottenham struggled to break down Sunderland's organized defense. The result leaves Sunderland with a much-needed boost in confidence as they aim to climb the league table. For Tottenham, this defeat is a setback in their pursuit of a top-four finish, highlighting the need for tactical adjustments and perhaps more consistency in their lineup. Post-match reactions highlighted Sunderland's tactical discipline and the impact of Mukiele's performance. Tottenham's head coach acknowledged the need for improvement in breaking down defensive setups, a challenge they have faced in recent matches. Overall, this match was a testament to Sunderland's ability to compete against higher-ranked teams, while Tottenham will need to regroup and address their tactical shortcomings as they look to secure European football for next season.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
