Preview for the game Real Sociedad vs Getafe
Real Sociedad host Getafe in Gameweek 33 with the Plus Minus model giving the Basque side a 48% chance of victory, compared to 23% for an away win and 28% for the draw. La Real’s recent league form is mixed, with two wins, two defeats and a draw in their last five (7 points), underlining their inconsistency. Getafe arrive slightly hotter with three wins and two losses in that same span (9 points), suggesting they are capable of turning tight games their way. The recent head-to-head record is finely balanced. Real Sociedad edged the most recent meeting 2-1 away on 9 January 2026, but Getafe produced a notable 3-0 win in San Sebastián on 26 January 2025. The other two clashes in this run – 0-0 and 1-1 draws – highlight how often this fixture has been cagey. For the hosts, the creativity and end product of Mikel Oyarzabal (GAP +3.6%) and the ball progression of Carlos Soler (GAP +2.1%) look central to breaking down a compact Getafe block. The visitors will lean heavily on the defensive structure in front of David Soria and the work rate of Mauro Arambarri (GAP +1.2%) in midfield, while Martín Satriano (GAP +4.2%) offers a direct outlet in transition. Injuries and availability Getafe are without Juanmi Jiménez, who has a confirmed knee injury absence since 21 February and is ruled out for Gameweek 33, while Borja Mayoral remains an indefinite absentee after knee arthroscopy dating back to 21 December. Real Sociedad are missing Álvaro Odriozola due to an anterior cruciate ligament rupture that is expected to keep him sidelined until October, and Iñaki Rupérez is also out following meniscus surgery, with his absence confirmed for this round. Igor Zubeldia is listed as doubtful as he recovers from a biceps femoris muscle tear that has kept him out since 20 March, and Arsen Zakharyan is also a doubt after a recent bout of gastroenteritis noted from 15 April.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
