Game Review
Real Sociedad secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Osasuna in their La Liga clash on Sunday, 15 March 2026. The home side's performance was dominant, with key contributions from their attacking players, particularly Goncalo Guedes (GAP +1.7%) and Mikel Oyarzabal (GAP +3.6%). This result was largely expected given Real Sociedad's strong form and position in the league. The match began with Real Sociedad asserting their dominance early on. Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring in the 24th minute, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Goncalo Guedes then doubled the lead in the 28th minute, showcasing his clinical finishing ability. Guedes continued to be a thorn in Osasuna's side, adding a second goal to his tally in the 52nd minute, effectively putting the game beyond Osasuna's reach. Osasuna managed to pull one back through Víctor Muñoz in the 77th minute, but it was too little, too late for the visitors. Despite their efforts, Osasuna struggled to break down a well-organized Real Sociedad defense. In terms of tactical adjustments, Real Sociedad made full use of their substitutes, bringing in Pablo Marín, Luka Sučić, Orri Óskarsson, Wesley, and Yangel Herrera to maintain their intensity throughout the match. Osasuna also made several changes, introducing Moi Gómez, Asier Osambela, Jorge Herrando, Iker Muñoz, and Kike Barja in an attempt to alter the course of the game. The Game Advantage Percentage (GAP) statistics highlighted several standout performances. Javi Galán (GAP +3.3%) and Ante Budimir (GAP +2.3%) were notable for Osasuna, while Carlos Soler (GAP +2.1%) and Duje Ćaleta-Car (GAP +2.6%) contributed significantly to Real Sociedad's success. This victory solidifies Real Sociedad's position in the upper echelons of the La Liga table, maintaining their momentum as they push for a top-four finish. Osasuna, on the other hand, will need to regroup and address their defensive frailties as they look to improve their standing in the league. Post-match reactions from the Real Sociedad camp were positive, with players and staff praising the team's cohesive performance. The away side, however, acknowledged the need for improvement in their upcoming fixtures.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
