Game Review
Arsenal delivered a commanding performance at the Emirates Stadium, securing a 3-0 victory over Sunderland in their Premier League clash on Saturday. This result was largely anticipated given Arsenal's superior form and league standing compared to Sunderland, who have been struggling this season. The match began with Arsenal asserting their dominance, controlling possession and creating several chances. The breakthrough came just before halftime when Martín Zubimendi (GAP +3.5%) found the back of the net in the 42nd minute, giving Arsenal a deserved lead. The home side continued to press in the second half, and their efforts were rewarded when substitute Viktor Gyökeres scored twice, first in the 66th minute and then sealing the victory with a goal in the 90th minute. Arsenal's manager made two changes to the starting lineup from their previous game, bringing in Gabriel Jesus (GAP +1.4%) and Riccardo Calafiori (GAP +3.4%), while Viktor Gyökeres and Piero Hincapié were left out. These changes paid off, particularly with Gyökeres making a significant impact off the bench. Sunderland, on the other hand, fielded an unchanged lineup, which struggled to cope with Arsenal's attacking prowess. Defensively, Arsenal were solid, with Gabriel Magalhães (GAP +7.7%) and William Saliba (GAP +6.9%) forming a formidable partnership at the back. David Raya (GAP +5.5%) also contributed significantly, ensuring a clean sheet with a couple of crucial saves. Post-match reactions highlighted Arsenal's growing confidence as they continue their push for a top-four finish. This victory keeps them well-positioned in the league standings, while Sunderland remains in a precarious position, needing to find form quickly to avoid relegation battles. Overall, Arsenal's tactical discipline and individual brilliance were too much for Sunderland, who will need to regroup and address their defensive vulnerabilities in upcoming fixtures.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
