Game Review
Nottingham Forest secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Brentford in their Premier League clash at the Brentford Community Stadium. The result was somewhat unexpected given Brentford's home advantage, but Forest's clinical finishing and solid defensive performance made the difference. The match began with Nottingham Forest taking an early lead through Igor Jesus in the 12th minute. This early goal set the tone for the visitors, who managed to control the game effectively. Brentford struggled to break down Forest's defense, with key players like Rico Henry (GAP -0.2%) and Kristoffer Ajer (GAP -1.1%) unable to make significant impacts. The second half saw Brentford pushing for an equalizer, but it was Nottingham Forest who doubled their lead in the 79th minute through Taiwo Awoniyi. Awoniyi's introduction as a substitute proved decisive, as he capitalized on a defensive lapse to seal the victory for Forest. Tactically, Nottingham Forest's manager made no changes to the starting lineup from their previous match, indicating confidence in his squad's ability to deliver results. Brentford also fielded an unchanged lineup, but their lack of cutting edge in attack was evident throughout the match. Key performances included Ola Aina (GAP +3.8%) and Matz Sels (GAP +0.8%), who were instrumental in maintaining Forest's defensive solidity. Brentford's attempts to alter the game's dynamics through substitutions, including the introduction of Aaron Hickey and Jordan Henderson, were ultimately ineffective. This victory propels Nottingham Forest further up the Premier League table, providing them with much-needed momentum as they aim to climb higher. For Brentford, the defeat highlights the need for tactical adjustments and improved finishing if they are to maintain their mid-table position and push for a higher finish. Post-match reactions from both camps emphasized the importance of the result, with Forest's players expressing satisfaction with their disciplined performance. Brentford, on the other hand, will need to regroup and address their shortcomings ahead of their next fixture.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
