Game Review
Manchester City secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in their Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. The result was largely expected given City's strong form and home advantage, as well as Wolves' struggles this season. The match started with an early breakthrough for Manchester City, as Omar Marmoush (GAP +4.2%) found the back of the net in the 6th minute. This early goal set the tone for the rest of the match, with City dominating possession and creating several chances. Antoine Semenyo (GAP +1.2%) doubled the lead just before halftime in the 45th minute, effectively sealing the win for the home side. City's lineup saw significant changes with five new faces compared to their previous outing. Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Omar Marmoush, Matheus Nunes, and Nico O'Reilly (GAP +5.5%) were brought into the starting eleven, replacing Nathan Ake, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Jérémy Doku, and Rico Lewis. These changes were part of a strategic rotation by the City manager, likely to manage squad fitness and injuries, as several players were unavailable due to international duty or injuries. Wolverhampton Wanderers made a single change, with Jhon Arias coming in for Tolu Arokodare. Despite this adjustment, Wolves struggled to make an impact against a well-organized City side. Key players like Hwang Hee-chan (GAP -2.3%) and André (GAP -2.7%) were unable to influence the game positively, as City's defense, led by Gianluigi Donnarumma (GAP +5.0%), kept a clean sheet. The victory keeps Manchester City firmly in the hunt for the Premier League title, maintaining their momentum with another three points. For Wolverhampton Wanderers, the defeat adds to their woes as they continue to languish in the lower half of the table, needing to find form quickly to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle. Post-match reactions highlighted City's clinical performance, with fans and pundits praising the tactical flexibility shown by the team. The City manager's decision to rotate the squad paid off, ensuring key players were rested while still securing a vital win.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
