About Us

We believe the individual impact of football players cannot be measured by vanity metrics like goals, passes, tackles won or possession. Real team players influence besides their own metrics especially their team members, their opponents and as a final output the game result directly and indirectly. This is what Football GAP is about.

Game Review

In a tightly contested Serie A encounter, Lecce emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Cremonese on Sunday, 8 March 2026. The match, part of Gameweek 28, saw Lecce capitalize on their early dominance to secure three crucial points. Lecce took the lead in the 22nd minute through Santiago Pierotti (GAP -1.5%), who found the back of the net with a well-timed finish. The home side doubled their advantage in the 38th minute when Nikola Štulić (GAP -1.4%) scored, putting Lecce in a commanding position before halftime. Cremonese responded quickly after the break, with Federico Bonazzoli (GAP -2.4%) reducing the deficit in the 47th minute, but they were unable to find an equalizer. The match was marred by a late red card for Giuseppe Pezzella (GAP -2.4%) of Cremonese, who was sent off in the 90th minute, further complicating their efforts to salvage a point. Tactically, Lecce's manager made effective use of his substitutes, bringing in Sadik Fofana, Omri Gandelman, Gaby Jean, and Walid Cheddira to maintain the team's intensity. Cremonese's head coach also made several changes, introducing Milan Đurić, Alessio Zerbin, David Okereke, Antonio Sanabria, and Martín Payero, but these adjustments were not enough to overturn the deficit. The Game Advantage Percentage (GAP) data highlights the contributions of key players, with Lassana Coulibaly (GAP +1.0%) and Tiago Gabriel (GAP +0.6%) playing pivotal roles in Lecce's midfield dominance. This victory helps Lecce solidify their mid-table position, providing a much-needed boost as they look to climb further up the standings. For Cremonese, the defeat is a setback in their quest to move away from the lower end of the table, emphasizing the need for improved performances in the coming fixtures.

What is GAP?

What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?

Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.

What is GAP?

GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
