Game Review
In a surprising turn of events in Serie A, Como secured a 2-1 victory over Cagliari at the Sardegna Arena on Saturday. This result was unexpected as Cagliari, playing at home, were anticipated to have the upper hand. However, Como's tactical discipline and clinical finishing turned the tide in their favor. The match began with Como taking an early lead in the 14th minute through Martin Baturina (GAP +0.2%), who capitalized on a defensive lapse from Cagliari. The home side struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, with Como's defense, led by Marc-Oliver Kempf (GAP +3.6%), effectively neutralizing Cagliari's attacking threats. Cagliari managed to level the score in the 56th minute when Sebastiano Esposito (GAP -0.1%) found the back of the net, giving the home fans a glimmer of hope. However, Como responded with a decisive goal in the 76th minute by Lucas Da Cunha (GAP +4.0%), who finished a well-worked team move to restore their lead. Both teams made several changes throughout the match. Cagliari's manager opted for fresh legs by bringing in Gabriele Zappa, Riyad Idrissi, Leonardo Pavoletti, and Semih Kılıçsoy, while Como introduced Álex Valle, Álvaro Morata, Sergi Roberto, Mërgim Vojvoda, and Diego Carlos. These substitutions were tactical, aiming to maintain energy levels and adapt to the evolving dynamics of the game. The Game Advantage Percentage (GAP) highlighted some standout performances, particularly from Como's Jean Butez (GAP +4.6%) and Jacobo Ramón (GAP +5.1%), who were instrumental in maintaining their team's structure and resilience. This victory propels Como further up the Serie A table, providing them with a crucial boost in confidence as they look to climb higher in the standings. For Cagliari, this defeat is a setback, and they will need to regroup quickly to avoid slipping further down the table. The result underscores the unpredictable nature of Serie A this season, where any team can triumph on their day.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
