Game Review
In a closely contested Serie A encounter, Hellas Verona emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara. The result was somewhat unexpected given Bologna's home advantage and their recent form, which saw them unbeaten in their last three matches. However, Verona's tactical discipline and clinical finishing turned the tide in their favor. The match began with both teams probing for weaknesses, but it wasn't until the second half that the game truly came to life. Jonathan Rowe (GAP -2.4%) opened the scoring for Bologna in the 49th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse from Verona. However, the lead was short-lived as Martin Frese (GAP -0.7%) equalized just four minutes later, showcasing Verona's resilience. The decisive moment came in the 57th minute when Kieran Bowie (GAP +1.7%) found the back of the net, giving Hellas Verona the lead. Bowie's goal was a testament to his sharpness and ability to exploit spaces in Bologna's defense. From a tactical perspective, Bologna's manager made five changes during the match, bringing in Simon Sohm, Federico Bernardeschi, Charalambos Lykogiannis, Tommaso Pobega, and Benjamín Domínguez. These substitutions were likely an attempt to inject fresh energy and creativity into the side. On the other hand, Hellas Verona's head coach also made four substitutions, introducing Tomáš Suslov, Al-Musrati, Amin Sarr, and Nicolás Valentini, which helped maintain their defensive solidity and counter-attacking threat. Lukasz Skorupski (GAP +3.1%) was notable for Bologna, making several key saves to keep his team in the game, while Jhon Lucumí (GAP +2.3%) also put in a commendable defensive performance. For Verona, Lorenzo Montipò (GAP -2.1%) was crucial in goal, ensuring Bologna's attempts to equalize were thwarted. This victory propels Hellas Verona further up the Serie A table, providing them with a much-needed boost in their quest for a mid-table finish. Meanwhile, Bologna will need to regroup and address their defensive frailties as they aim to secure a top-half finish in the league.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
