Game Review
Barcelona secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Osasuna in a La Liga clash on Saturday, 2 May 2026. The match, part of Gameweek 34, saw Barcelona extend their winning streak, maintaining pressure at the top of the table. Despite Osasuna's spirited performance, the Catalans' quality shone through in the latter stages of the game. The game remained goalless for much of the first half, with both teams struggling to convert their chances. It wasn't until the 81st minute that Robert Lewandowski (GAP +5.8%) broke the deadlock for Barcelona, capitalizing on a defensive lapse from Osasuna. This goal marked a pivotal moment, shifting the momentum firmly in Barcelona's favor. Just five minutes later, Ferran Torres, who came on as a substitute, doubled Barcelona's lead with a well-taken goal in the 86th minute. Osasuna, however, refused to go down without a fight. Raúl García, another substitute, pulled one back for the home side in the 88th minute, setting up a tense finale. In terms of tactical adjustments, Barcelona's head coach made five changes to the starting lineup, bringing in Ferran Torres, Ronald Araújo, Marc Bernal, Frenkie de Jong, and Marcus Rashford. These changes injected fresh energy into the team, particularly in the second half. Osasuna also made several substitutions, with Raúl García's introduction proving impactful as he scored their only goal. Eric García (GAP +8.7%) was a standout performer for Barcelona, providing stability at the back and contributing to the team's overall defensive solidity. His performance was crucial in keeping Osasuna's attacking threats at bay. This victory keeps Barcelona firmly in the title race, as they continue to challenge for the top spot in La Liga. Osasuna, on the other hand, will need to regroup quickly as they aim to finish the season strongly. The result reflects Barcelona's resilience and depth, showcasing their ability to grind out results even when not at their best.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
