About Us

We believe the individual impact of football players cannot be measured by vanity metrics like goals, passes, tackles won or possession. Real team players influence besides their own metrics especially their team members, their opponents and as a final output the game result directly and indirectly. This is what Football GAP is about.

Preview for the game Mallorca vs Valencia

Mallorca arrive in Gameweek 33 as the form side of the two, taking 10 points from their last five league matches with three wins, a draw and just one defeat. That run, built on a solid defensive base with Leo Román (GAP -0.7%) in goal, contrasts with Valencia’s more erratic sequence of six points from their last five, alternating defeats and wins. The Plus Minus model leans towards the hosts, giving Mallorca a 48% chance of victory, with a draw at 30% and Valencia at 22%. Recent head-to-head data suggests fine margins. The reverse fixture finished 1-1 in December 2025, while the last meeting in Mallorca ended 2-1 to the hosts in November 2024. Across the last four league clashes, each side has one win and there have been two draws, including a 0-0 in March 2024. Mallorca’s attacking focal point Vedat Muriqi (GAP +0.7%) will be key against a Valencia back line that has looked less stable in recent weeks, while for the visitors much may depend on the midfield control offered by Guido Rodríguez (GAP +5.0%) and the creativity of Javi Guerra. Injuries and availability Mallorca have several notable absences. Zito Luvumbo is ruled out with a hamstring tear and is expected to be sidelined until early May. Mateo Joseph, listed in the projected squad, is confirmed out for Gameweek 33 due to a knee injury. Captain Antonio Raíllo is also unavailable after ankle surgery and is not expected back until June, while Jan Salas remains a long‑term absentee with an anterior cruciate ligament rupture, sidelined until around October. Goalkeeper Lucas Bergstrom is a doubt with unspecified discomfort and may not feature. Valencia’s defensive resources are stretched. José Manuel Copete is out until late May with a meniscus tear, while Mouctar Diakhaby and Dimitri Foulquier are both sidelined until around May with hamstring and knee issues respectively. At the same time, Unai Núñez is rated doubtful due to a hamstring problem, and Eray Cömert is also a doubt with an abdominal tear. Goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala is another doubt following a meniscus injury. On the positive side, César Tárrega and Daniel Raba are both listed as available again for this round after working on individual recovery programmes.

What is GAP?

What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?

Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.

What is GAP?

GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
