About Us

We believe the individual impact of football players cannot be measured by vanity metrics like goals, passes, tackles won or possession. Real team players influence besides their own metrics especially their team members, their opponents and as a final output the game result directly and indirectly. This is what Football GAP is about.

Preview for the game Levante vs Sevilla

Levante come into this La Liga Gameweek 33 clash in better recent form than Sevilla, taking 8 points from their last 5 league matches with two wins and two draws in that run. Sevilla, by contrast, have collected just 4 points from their last 5, losing three of those games and drawing last time out. The Plus Minus model leans towards the hosts, giving Levante a 45% chance of victory, with a draw at 31% and Sevilla rated at only 24% to take all three points. The recent head-to-head also tilts towards Levante: they won 3-0 away at Sevilla on 4 January 2026, underlining that this is no longer a one-sided fixture in the Andalusians’ favour. At home, Levante will again look for solidity from goalkeeper Mathew Ryan (GAP -0.1%) and creativity from Kareem Tunde (GAP +0.3%) to turn their superior form into another result. Sevilla’s response may hinge on whether their attacking structure around Alexis Sánchez (GAP -3.5%) and the physical presence of Akor Adams (GAP +0.0%) can break a Levante side that has recently proved hard to beat. Injuries and availability Levante are without Roger Brugué, who has been sidelined since 15 December with a lateral ligament rupture and is expected to remain out until May. Unai Elgezabal is listed as doubtful due to knee discomfort, with his status specifically in question for this Gameweek 33 fixture. For Sevilla, César Azpilicueta has been out since 4 April with an adductor muscle tear and is expected to miss the game until at least the end of April, while Marcão remains unavailable with a scaphoid fracture that has kept him out since 21 January and is not expected back before May.

What is GAP?

What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?

Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.

What is GAP?

GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
