Game Review
In a thrilling Premier League encounter at Anfield, Manchester City edged past Liverpool with a 2-1 victory, a result that was somewhat anticipated given City's recent form and league position. The match was tightly contested, with both teams showcasing their tactical prowess and individual brilliance. The game remained goalless until the 74th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai (GAP +2.5%) broke the deadlock for Liverpool, giving the home side a much-needed lead. However, Manchester City responded swiftly, with Bernardo Silva (GAP +4.1%) equalizing in the 84th minute. The decisive moment came in the 90th minute when Erling Haaland (GAP +5.4%) found the back of the net, securing all three points for the visitors. Liverpool's lineup saw no changes from their previous match, indicating a stable selection strategy from their manager. In contrast, Manchester City made one change, bringing in Omar Marmoush for Rayan Cherki, a decision that paid off as Marmoush contributed significantly to City's attacking efforts. The match was not without controversy, as Dominik Szoboszlai received a red card in the dying moments, adding to Liverpool's woes. This dismissal will see him miss the next match, a significant blow given his influence on the pitch. Key performances came from City's Rodri (GAP +5.3%) and Gianluigi Donnarumma (GAP +5.2%), who were instrumental in maintaining City's defensive solidity and facilitating their counter-attacks. For Liverpool, Mohamed Salah (GAP +3.5%) and Virgil van Dijk (GAP +3.3%) were standout performers, though their efforts were ultimately in vain. This victory consolidates Manchester City's position at the top of the table, extending their lead and maintaining their momentum in the title race. Liverpool, on the other hand, will need to regroup quickly as they aim to secure a top-four finish. The result highlights the fine margins at the top level, where individual moments of brilliance can turn the tide in a tightly contested match.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
