Game Review
In a tightly contested Serie A encounter, Fiorentina and Genoa played out a goalless draw on Sunday, 10 May 2026. The match, part of Gameweek 36, saw both teams struggle to break the deadlock, resulting in a 0-0 stalemate that reflected the evenly matched nature of the contest. The game lacked significant goalmouth action, with neither side able to capitalize on their opportunities. Fiorentina, playing at home, were expected to push for a win to bolster their league position, but Genoa's resilient defense held firm throughout the 90 minutes. Despite the absence of goals, the match was not without its tactical intrigue. Fiorentina's manager opted for a series of substitutions in an attempt to inject fresh energy into the team. Marco Brescianini, Albert Guðmundsson, Giovanni Fabbian, and Roberto Piccoli were all introduced from the bench, but their impact was limited against a well-organized Genoa side. Genoa's head coach also made strategic changes, bringing on Caleb Ekuban, Ruslan Malinovskyi, and Patrizio Masini to reinforce their midfield and attack. The lack of goals and major incidents meant that the game was largely a midfield battle, with both teams cancelling each other out. Fiorentina's inability to find the net was a surprise given their recent form, while Genoa will be pleased with a point away from home, which helps them maintain their position in the league. Post-match reactions highlighted the defensive solidity of both teams, with fans and pundits acknowledging the disciplined performances. The result leaves Fiorentina needing to find more attacking impetus in their remaining fixtures to secure a higher league finish, while Genoa can take confidence from their defensive display as they look to finish the season strongly. Overall, the draw was a fair reflection of the match, with neither side doing enough to claim all three points. As the Serie A season nears its conclusion, both teams will be looking to improve their offensive output in the final games.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
