Game Review
In a crucial Serie A encounter, Udinese secured a 2-0 victory over Cagliari, a result that was somewhat expected given Udinese's stronger form coming into the match. The game, part of Gameweek 36, saw Udinese capitalize on their chances to maintain their push for a higher league finish. The match remained goalless in the first half, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut opportunities. However, the deadlock was broken in the 56th minute when Adam Buksa found the back of the net for Udinese, giving them a crucial lead. The goal shifted the momentum in Udinese's favor, allowing them to control the game more effectively. As the match progressed, Cagliari attempted to find an equalizer but were unable to break through Udinese's organized defense. The away side sealed their victory in the 90th minute with a goal from substitute Idrissa Gueye, ensuring all three points were secured. From a tactical standpoint, Thomas Kristensen (GAP +3.2%) was instrumental in Udinese's midfield, providing stability and linking play effectively. Oumar Solet (GAP +2.5%) also stood out in defense, helping to keep Cagliari's attack at bay. Cagliari's lineup saw several changes, with Agustín Albarracín, Andrea Belotti, Ibrahim Sulemana, and Gabriele Zappa coming off the bench, but these adjustments were unable to alter the outcome. Udinese's manager made strategic substitutions, including the introduction of Idrissa Gueye, who made an immediate impact with his late goal. This result leaves Cagliari in a precarious position as they look to avoid slipping further down the table. Meanwhile, Udinese's victory bolsters their chances of finishing in a strong position, as they continue to build momentum in the final stages of the season.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
