Preview for the game Cagliari vs Como
Cagliari come into this Serie A Gameweek 28 clash with just one win in their last five league matches, taking 5 points from a run of two draws, two defeats and a victory. Como arrive in stronger form, with 8 points from their last five thanks to two wins, two draws and a single loss, and the Plus Minus model reflects that momentum: it gives Cagliari only a 21% chance of a home win, with a draw at 27% and Como favoured at 52%. The recent head-to-head record also leans Como’s way. The sides drew 0-0 in Como on 8 November 2025, but Como won 3-1 at home on 10 May 2025, while the reverse in Sardinia on 26 August 2024 finished 1-1. Como’s spine looks analytically strong, with goalkeeper Jean Butez (GAP +4.6%) and creator Lucas Da Cunha (GAP +4.0%) both projecting as high-impact pieces. For Cagliari, centre-back Adam Obert (GAP -2.5%) and forward Sebastiano Esposito (GAP -0.1%) will be central to resisting Como’s pressure and turning limited chances into goals, especially with the model clearly tilting towards the visitors. Injuries and availability Cagliari are missing several options. Andrea Belotti is sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury and is only expected back in April, while Gennaro Borrelli is out with a muscle problem and remains to be assessed. Alessandro Deiola is also doubtful due to a physical issue, and Mattia Felici’s cruciate ligament rupture has ruled him out for the season. Gianluca Gaetano is being monitored for an adductor problem. Notably, Luca Mazzitelli, listed in the expected XI, is carrying a low-grade soleus distraction and is only projected to return around mid-March, so his involvement is uncertain. Como have fewer but still significant absences. Jayden Addai is out for the season with an Achilles tendon rupture, while Álvaro Morata is doubtful with an ankle problem and has no clear return date. Martin Baturina, named among the expected starters, is recovering from a deltoid ligament issue in his left ankle and is also only expected back around mid-March, making his availability a key late fitness question for the visitors.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
