Game Review
In a Serie A clash on February 16, 2026, Lecce secured a 2-0 victory over Cagliari, a result that might have surprised some given the pre-match expectations. Lecce, who have been struggling for consistency this season, managed to outplay Cagliari, who were hoping to capitalize on their home advantage. The game remained goalless until the 65th minute when Omri Gandelman broke the deadlock for Lecce. His goal was a crucial turning point, giving Lecce the momentum they needed. Just over ten minutes later, Ylber Ramadani (GAP -1.0%) doubled the lead, effectively sealing the win for the visitors. From a tactical perspective, Lecce's manager made several key substitutions that paid off. Corrie Ndaba, Nikola Štulić, Jamil Siebert, and Oumar Ngom were all introduced during the match, providing fresh legs and maintaining the team's defensive solidity. Cagliari, on the other hand, brought in Semih Kılıçsoy and Luca Mazzitelli, but these changes failed to alter the course of the game. In terms of individual performances, Wladimiro Falcone (GAP -1.3%) stood out for Lecce with a commanding presence in goal, ensuring a clean sheet. On the defensive end, Yerry Mina (GAP +0.3%) was notable for Cagliari, but his efforts were not enough to prevent the defeat. This result leaves Cagliari in a precarious position as they continue to struggle for form. For Lecce, the victory provides a much-needed boost in their quest to climb the Serie A table. The win could serve as a catalyst for improved performances in the coming weeks. Post-match reactions highlighted Lecce's tactical discipline and resilience, with fans praising the team's ability to capitalize on their chances. Cagliari will need to regroup quickly to avoid slipping further down the standings.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
