Game Review
Fiorentina secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Lazio in their Serie A clash on Monday, 13 April 2026. The decisive moment came in the 28th minute when Robin Gosens (GAP +3.0%) found the back of the net, ensuring the home side took all three points. This result was somewhat unexpected given Lazio's recent form, but Fiorentina's disciplined performance paid off. The match was tightly contested, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. Fiorentina's defense, marshaled by Daniele Rugani (GAP -1.7%), held firm against Lazio's attacking threats. Despite Lazio's efforts, they were unable to break through, with Fiorentina's goalkeeper David de Gea (GAP +0.0%) maintaining a clean sheet. Tactically, Fiorentina's manager made two substitutions, bringing on Marin Pongračić and Manor Solomon to bolster their defensive and midfield lines. Lazio's head coach opted for a more aggressive approach in the second half, introducing Tijjani Noslin, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Pedro, Petar Ratkov, and Gustav Isaksen in an attempt to change the game's dynamics. However, these changes did not yield the desired outcome. The Game Advantage Percentage (GAP) highlighted some key performances, with Luca Ranieri (GAP +2.1%) and Dodô (GAP +1.6%) contributing significantly to Fiorentina's defensive solidity. On the other hand, Lazio's Patric (GAP +4.0%) was one of the few bright spots for the visitors, showing resilience in defense. This victory is crucial for Fiorentina as they look to climb the Serie A table, while Lazio will need to regroup and address their attacking inefficiencies. The result leaves Fiorentina with a renewed sense of momentum as they approach the final stretch of the season.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
