In a surprising turn of events in La Liga's Gameweek 23, Real Betis secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano. The decisive moment came in the 28th minute when Antony found the back of the net, delivering a crucial goal that would ultimately separate the two sides. The match was anticipated to be a challenging encounter for Real Betis, given Atlético Madrid's reputation and home advantage. However, Betis managed to defy expectations with a disciplined performance. The goal by Antony was a result of a well-executed counter-attack, showcasing Betis's tactical acumen and ability to capitalize on their opportunities. Atlético Madrid, known for their robust defensive setup, struggled to break down the resilient Betis defense. Despite having a significant share of possession, they failed to convert their chances into goals. The lack of substitutions from both sides indicated a tactical battle where both managers opted to trust their starting lineups to deliver the desired outcome. The absence of lineup changes for both teams compared to their previous matches suggests a level of consistency in their tactical approach. However, Atlético's inability to adapt during the game might have cost them the points. This result has significant implications for both teams in the La Liga standings. For Atlético Madrid, the loss is a setback in their pursuit of a top-four finish, potentially affecting their momentum in the league. Real Betis, meanwhile, will be buoyed by this victory, which could serve as a catalyst for their push up the table. Post-match reactions highlighted the strategic discipline of Real Betis and the need for Atlético to reassess their attacking strategies. The win for Betis is a testament to their growing confidence and ability to compete against top-tier teams in the league.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
