Game Review
Chelsea secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Brentford in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge. The result was largely anticipated given Chelsea's superior form and squad depth. The home side controlled the game, with goals from João Pedro (GAP +1.1%) and Cole Palmer (GAP +5.1%) sealing the win. The match began with Chelsea asserting dominance, and it was João Pedro who broke the deadlock in the 26th minute. His goal set the tone for the rest of the match, as Chelsea maintained pressure on Brentford's defense. Brentford, despite their efforts, struggled to create significant chances against a well-organized Chelsea backline. In the second half, Chelsea continued to press, and their persistence paid off when Cole Palmer doubled the lead in the 76th minute. Palmer's performance was particularly noteworthy, as he not only scored but also contributed significantly to Chelsea's attacking play. Chelsea's manager made three changes to the starting lineup compared to their previous match, introducing João Pedro, Reece James (GAP +1.3%), and Alejandro Garnacho (GAP -1.3%). These changes were strategic, aimed at bolstering the team's attacking options and defensive solidity. Brentford, on the other hand, made a single change, bringing in Mikkel Damsgaard (GAP +2.2%) for Keane Lewis-Potter. The Game Advantage Percentage (GAP) highlighted several key performers, with Marc Cucurella (GAP +5.1%) and Robert Sanchez (GAP +5.0%) standing out for Chelsea, while Brentford's Caoimhín Kelleher (GAP +4.3%) and Kevin Schade (GAP +4.3%) were notable in their efforts to keep the scoreline respectable. This victory strengthens Chelsea's position in the league, as they continue to chase the top spots. For Brentford, the defeat means they need to regroup and focus on upcoming fixtures to avoid slipping further down the table. The result reflects Chelsea's current form, having entered the match with a series of positive results, while Brentford will need to address their inconsistencies to improve their standing.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
