Game Review
In a tightly contested Serie A encounter, Atalanta and Genoa played out a goalless draw on Saturday, 2 May 2026. The result, while perhaps not surprising given the evenly matched nature of the teams, left both sides with mixed feelings as they continue their campaigns in the league. The match was characterized by a lack of clear-cut chances, with both defenses holding firm throughout the 90 minutes. Atalanta's Davide Zappacosta (GAP +4.1%) and Marten de Roon (GAP +4.3%) were instrumental in maintaining defensive solidity, while Genoa's Stefano Sabelli (GAP +1.8%) and goalkeeper Justin Bijlow (GAP +1.6%) ensured their side kept a clean sheet. Atalanta made several substitutions in an attempt to break the deadlock, bringing on Yunus Musah, Mario Pasalic, Isak Hien, Lazar Samardžić, and Giacomo Raspadori. Genoa responded with their own changes, introducing Aarón Martín, Caleb Ekuban, Patrizio Masini, Ruslan Malinovskyi, and Junior Messias. Despite these tactical adjustments, neither team could find the decisive goal. The standout performance came from Atalanta's Éderson (GAP +5.1%), who was pivotal in both defensive duties and transitioning play from defense to attack. His efforts, however, were not enough to secure a victory for the home side. This draw leaves Atalanta and Genoa in a position where they must capitalize on their remaining fixtures to improve their standings in the Serie A table. Both teams will need to find a way to convert their defensive strengths into offensive success as the season draws to a close.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
