Game Review
In a tightly contested Serie A match, Parma and Napoli played out a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Sunday. The result was somewhat unexpected given Napoli's higher standing in the league and their recent form, but Parma's early goal set the tone for a competitive encounter. The game began with a bang as Gabriel Espeto (GAP +1.3%) found the back of the net for Parma in the very first minute. This early strike put the home side in a commanding position and forced Napoli to chase the game. Despite dominating possession, Napoli struggled to break down a resolute Parma defense in the first half. Napoli's persistence paid off in the 60th minute when Scott McTominay (GAP +5.4%) equalized, showcasing his knack for crucial goals. His performance was instrumental in Napoli's midfield, contributing significantly to their efforts to control the game. Tactically, both teams made several substitutions to try and tip the balance. Parma introduced Nahuell Estévez, Christian Ordoñez, and Oliver Sørensen, while Napoli brought on Sam Beukema, Miguel Gutiérrez, Eljif Elmas, Alisson de Almeida Santos, and Giovane. These changes, however, did not alter the scoreline. From a tactical perspective, Napoli's midfield trio of Kevin De Bruyne (GAP +3.3%), Stanislav Lobotka (GAP +3.2%), and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (GAP +3.8%) were pivotal in maintaining possession and creating opportunities. However, Parma's defense, marshaled by Lautaro Valenti (GAP +0.8%), held firm to secure a valuable point. This draw leaves Napoli still in contention for a top-four finish, but they will see it as a missed opportunity to close the gap on the league leaders. For Parma, the point is crucial in their battle to avoid relegation, providing a morale boost against a strong opponent. Post-match reactions highlighted the resilience of Parma and the frustration of Napoli, who were expected to take all three points. The result keeps the Serie A table intriguingly poised as the season approaches its climax.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
