Game Review
In a surprising turn of events in Serie A, Cremonese secured a 2-0 victory over Parma on Saturday, 21 March 2026. This result was unexpected as Parma, playing at home, were anticipated to have the upper hand. However, Cremonese's tactical discipline and clinical finishing turned the tide in their favor. The match remained goalless in the first half, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. The breakthrough came in the 54th minute when Youssef Maleh (GAP -1.7%) found the back of the net for Cremonese, capitalizing on a defensive lapse by Parma. This goal shifted the momentum significantly, putting pressure on the home side to respond. Cremonese doubled their lead in the 68th minute through Jari Vandeputte (GAP -0.4%), who finished off a well-executed counter-attack. His goal effectively sealed the win for the visitors, as Parma failed to mount a comeback despite making several substitutions, including the introduction of Gaetano Oristanio and Nahuell Estévez. Analyzing the lineups, Cremonese made five changes, bringing in Martín Payero, Jamie Vardy, Francesco Folino, Morten Thorsby, and Tommaso Barbieri. These changes seemed to inject fresh energy into the team, contributing to their robust performance. Parma, on the other hand, maintained their starting lineup from previous matches, which might have contributed to their lack of dynamism. The Game Advantage Percentage (GAP) data highlights the impact of Cremonese's players, with Matteo Bianchetti (GAP +1.1%) and Gabriel Espeto (GAP +1.3%) standing out for their contributions to the team's defensive solidity and attacking transitions. Post-match reactions from the Cremonese camp praised the team's resilience and tactical execution. The victory propels Cremonese up the Serie A table, providing a much-needed boost in their quest to climb the standings. For Parma, this defeat is a setback, and they will need to regroup quickly to avoid slipping further down the table as the season progresses.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
