About Us

We believe the individual impact of football players cannot be measured by vanity metrics like goals, passes, tackles won or possession. Real team players influence besides their own metrics especially their team members, their opponents and as a final output the game result directly and indirectly. This is what Football GAP is about.

Game Review

In a tightly contested Serie A encounter, Juventus and Sassuolo played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday, 21 March 2026. The match, held at Juventus' home ground, saw both teams share the spoils in a game that could have gone either way. Juventus, who have been in mixed form recently, were looking to capitalize on home advantage, while Sassuolo aimed to continue their steady climb up the table. The game started brightly for Juventus as Kenan Yıldız (GAP +3.8%) opened the scoring in the 14th minute. His goal was a testament to his growing influence in the team, as he capitalized on a defensive lapse from Sassuolo. However, the visitors responded well after the break, with Andrea Pinamonti (GAP +1.0%) leveling the score in the 52nd minute. Pinamonti's equalizer was a result of a well-executed team move, highlighting Sassuolo's resilience and tactical discipline. Juventus made several changes to their lineup, introducing Arkadiusz Milik, Dušan Vlahović, Teun Koopmeiners, Fabio Miretti, and Edon Zhegrova from the bench. These substitutions were aimed at injecting fresh energy into the team as they sought to regain the lead. Sassuolo's head coach also made tactical adjustments, bringing on Josh Doig, M’Bala Nzola, Edoardo Iannoni, Armand Laurienté, and Luca Lipani to maintain their competitive edge. In terms of individual performances, Bremer (GAP +4.3%) stood out for Juventus, providing solidity at the back, while Domenico Berardi (GAP +3.1%) was influential for Sassuolo, orchestrating play from the midfield. Both teams showed tactical flexibility, with Juventus focusing on quick transitions and Sassuolo maintaining a compact defensive shape. The result leaves Juventus in a precarious position as they aim to secure a top-four finish, while Sassuolo will be pleased with a point that keeps them in the hunt for European qualification. The draw reflects the competitive nature of Serie A this season, where every point is crucial in the race for continental football. Post-match reactions highlighted the competitive spirit of both teams, with players and coaches acknowledging the fair result. Juventus will need to regroup quickly as they prepare for their next fixture, while Sassuolo will look to build on this performance in their upcoming matches.

What is GAP?

What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?

Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.

What is GAP?

GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
