Game Review
In a tightly contested Serie A encounter, Lazio and Sassuolo played out a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico. The result, while perhaps not surprising given both teams' mid-table standings, offered a glimpse into the tactical nuances and individual performances that defined the match. Lazio took an early lead through Daniel Maldini (GAP -0.5%), who found the back of the net in the 2nd minute. His goal set the tone for a first half where Lazio appeared to have the upper hand. However, Sassuolo responded in the 35th minute with a well-taken goal by Armand Laurienté (GAP -1.3%), leveling the score and shifting the momentum. The game was characterized by its tactical battles, with both teams making strategic substitutions to try and gain an edge. Lazio's manager opted for a series of changes, bringing in Oliver Provstgaard Nielsen, Pedro, Patric, Boulaye Dia, and Matteo Cancellieri. These substitutions were likely aimed at injecting fresh energy and maintaining the team's attacking threat. Sassuolo's head coach also made four changes, introducing Josh Doig, Luca Moro, Sebastian Walukiewicz, and Nemanja Matic, possibly to bolster their defensive solidity and midfield control. Key performances included Mario Gila (GAP +3.5%), who was instrumental in Lazio's defensive efforts, and Domenico Berardi (GAP +3.0%), whose creativity and vision were pivotal for Sassuolo. Despite the draw, both teams showed flashes of brilliance, with Sassuolo's goalkeeper Arijanet Murić (GAP +1.1%) making crucial saves to deny Lazio further goals. This draw leaves Lazio and Sassuolo in a similar position in the Serie A table, with both teams needing to find consistency as the season progresses. The result reflects their current form, as neither side has managed to string together a series of wins in recent matches. Moving forward, both teams will need to capitalize on their strengths and address their weaknesses to climb the standings. Post-match reactions highlighted the competitive nature of the game, with both managers acknowledging the efforts of their players. As the Serie A season enters its final stretch, every point will be crucial in determining the final standings.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
