Game Review
Inter Milan secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Genoa in their Serie A clash on Saturday, 28 February 2026. The result was largely expected given Inter's superior form and league position compared to their opponents. Inter Milan, who have been in solid form, demonstrated their dominance throughout the match, controlling the tempo and creating numerous opportunities. The match saw Inter Milan take the lead in the 31st minute through Federico Dimarco (GAP +5.9%), who capitalized on a well-executed team move to put the hosts ahead. Genoa struggled to respond effectively, and their attempts to break through Inter's defense were consistently thwarted by a disciplined backline, led by Stefan de Vrij (GAP +6.7%). In the second half, Inter continued to press, and their efforts were rewarded in the 70th minute when substitute Hakan Çalhanoğlu found the back of the net, sealing the victory for the home side. Çalhanoğlu's introduction was one of several tactical adjustments made by the Inter Milan manager, who also brought on Yann Bisseck, Davide Frattesi, Francesco Esposito, and Andy Diouf to maintain the team's momentum and secure the win. Yann Sommer (GAP +7.0%) was instrumental in goal for Inter, ensuring a clean sheet with several key saves. Meanwhile, Genoa's attempts to alter the course of the game with substitutions, including Stefano Sabelli and Junior Messias, failed to make a significant impact. Inter Milan made five changes to their lineup, introducing Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Yann Bisseck, Davide Frattesi, Francesco Esposito, and Andy Diouf. Genoa also made five substitutions, bringing in Stefano Sabelli, Alexsandro Amorim de Freitas Filho, Jeff Ekhator Osayuki, Junior Messias, and Caleb Ekuban. This victory solidifies Inter Milan's position in the upper echelons of the Serie A table, as they continue to chase the top spots. For Genoa, the defeat highlights the challenges they face in climbing the league standings, as they remain in the lower half of the table. The result underscores Inter's strong form, while Genoa will need to regroup and strategize for their upcoming fixtures.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
