About Us

We believe the individual impact of football players cannot be measured by vanity metrics like goals, passes, tackles won or possession. Real team players influence besides their own metrics especially their team members, their opponents and as a final output the game result directly and indirectly. This is what Football GAP is about.

Game Review

In a commanding Serie A performance, Roma secured a 3-0 victory over Cremonese on Sunday, 22 February 2026. This result was largely anticipated given Roma's superior form and league standing compared to their opponents. The match unfolded with Roma dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities, which they capitalized on effectively. Despite the lack of detailed goal data, it is clear that Roma's attacking prowess was on full display. The absence of any recorded disciplinary issues suggests a clean and disciplined performance from both sides, focusing purely on the football. Roma's lineup remained unchanged from their previous match, indicating a stable and confident squad selection by their manager. On the other hand, Cremonese also fielded the same starting eleven as in their last outing, suggesting a consistent approach despite their struggles in the league. The tactical battle was largely one-sided, with Roma's midfield controlling the tempo and dictating play. The home side's ability to break down Cremonese's defense was evident, as they managed to find the back of the net three times without reply. Post-match reactions highlighted Roma's continued push for a top-four finish, with fans and pundits alike praising their cohesive team performance. The win solidifies Roma's position in the upper echelons of the Serie A table, while Cremonese remains in a precarious position, needing to find form quickly to avoid the relegation battle. Overall, this result underscores Roma's ambitions this season and leaves Cremonese with much to ponder as they seek to improve their fortunes in the coming fixtures.

What is GAP?

What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?

Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.

What is GAP?

GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
