Game Review
Inter Milan secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Lecce in their Serie A clash on Wednesday, 14 January 2026. The match was tightly contested, with Inter eventually breaking the deadlock late in the second half. This result was largely expected given Inter's superior squad depth and form coming into the game. The decisive moment came in the 78th minute when substitute Francesco Esposito found the back of the net, ensuring all three points for the home side. Inter's dominance in possession and their ability to create chances were evident throughout the match, although they struggled to convert these opportunities into goals until Esposito's intervention. Key players for Inter included Marcus Thuram (GAP +5.6%), who was instrumental in their attacking play, and Yann Sommer (GAP +5.7%), whose solid performance in goal ensured a clean sheet. On the other hand, Lecce's Wladimiro Falcone (GAP -1.3%) had a challenging evening, facing numerous shots from the Inter attack. In terms of lineup changes, Inter Milan made several substitutions during the match, bringing in Davide Frattesi, Lautaro Martínez, Petar Sučić, Luis Henrique, and the eventual match-winner Francesco Esposito. Lecce also made changes, introducing Tete Morente, Álex Sala, Konan N’Dri, and Mohamed Kaba as they sought to find a way back into the game. This victory keeps Inter Milan in a strong position in the Serie A standings, maintaining their momentum as they aim for a top finish. Lecce, meanwhile, will need to regroup and focus on their upcoming fixtures to climb the table and avoid being drawn into a relegation battle.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
