In a tightly contested La Liga encounter, Celta Vigo emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Girona at the Estadi Montilivi. This result might have surprised some, given Girona's home advantage and their recent form, but Celta Vigo's tactical discipline and clinical finishing made the difference. The match began with Girona taking the lead in the 35th minute through Vladyslav Vanat (GAP -1.1%), who capitalized on a defensive lapse to put the hosts ahead. However, Celta Vigo responded strongly in the second half. Ferran Jutglà (GAP -0.3%) equalized in the 58th minute, showcasing his poacher's instinct with a well-timed finish. The decisive moment came in the 70th minute when Vitor Reis (GAP -0.9%) scored what proved to be the winning goal, capping off a swift counter-attack. Tactically, Celta Vigo's manager made no changes to the starting lineup from their previous match, indicating confidence in his squad's ability to execute the game plan. Girona, on the other hand, also fielded an unchanged lineup, suggesting a belief in continuity despite the eventual defeat. Key performances included Óscar Mingueza (GAP +2.3%), who was instrumental in Celta Vigo's defensive solidity, and Ionuț Radu (GAP +2.5%), whose crucial saves kept Girona at bay during critical phases of the match. Post-match reactions highlighted Celta Vigo's resilience and tactical acumen, with the away team's head coach praising his players' ability to adapt and overcome Girona's early pressure. This victory propels Celta Vigo further up the table, enhancing their prospects for a strong finish to the season. Meanwhile, Girona will need to regroup quickly to maintain their mid-table position and avoid slipping into the lower half. Overall, this match was a testament to Celta Vigo's growing confidence and ability to secure crucial points away from home, a factor that could be pivotal as the season progresses.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
