Game Review
Rayo Vallecano delivered a commanding performance in their La Liga clash against Real Oviedo, securing a 3-0 victory at home. This result was largely anticipated given Rayo's superior form and league position compared to their opponents. The match was characterized by Rayo's clinical finishing and solid defensive organization. The game began with both teams probing for openings, but it was Rayo Vallecano who broke the deadlock just before halftime. Jorge de Frutos (GAP +2.6%) opened the scoring in the 44th minute, setting the tone for the second half. De Frutos continued his impressive display by doubling the lead shortly after the break in the 50th minute, showcasing his attacking prowess and making a significant impact on the game. Alvaro Garcia (GAP -2.0%) added a third goal in the 62nd minute, effectively sealing the victory for Rayo Vallecano. His contribution was crucial in maintaining the momentum and ensuring a comfortable win for the home side. In terms of tactical adjustments, Rayo Vallecano's manager opted for a stable lineup, making no changes from their previous match. This consistency paid off as the team executed their game plan effectively. On the other hand, Real Oviedo's head coach made several changes, introducing Nicolás Fonseca, Luka Ilić, Thiago Fernández, and Santi Cazorla from the bench, but these adjustments failed to alter the course of the match. The Game Advantage Percentage (GAP) statistics highlighted the standout performances, with Jorge de Frutos and Andrei Rațiu (GAP +2.5%) being particularly influential. Meanwhile, Real Oviedo struggled to find their rhythm, with key players like Lucas Ahijado (GAP -4.0%) and Alberto Reina (GAP -4.0%) unable to make a significant impact. This victory solidifies Rayo Vallecano's position in the upper half of the table, boosting their confidence as they continue their push for European qualification. For Real Oviedo, the defeat leaves them in a precarious position, needing to regroup and find form to avoid slipping further down the standings.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
