Game Review
Atlético Madrid delivered a commanding performance in their La Liga clash against Mallorca, securing a 3-0 victory at home. The result was largely expected given Atlético's superior squad depth and recent form, while Mallorca struggled to impose themselves throughout the match. The game began with Atlético Madrid asserting their dominance early on. Alexander Sørloth (GAP +3.3%) opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse from Mallorca. This early goal set the tone for the rest of the match, with Atlético maintaining control and dictating the pace. In the second half, Atlético continued to press their advantage. David López extended the lead in the 75th minute, effectively sealing the win for the home side. The final blow came in the 87th minute when substitute Thiago Almada found the back of the net, rounding off a comprehensive victory. From a tactical perspective, Atlético Madrid's manager made effective use of his substitutes, bringing on Thiago Almada, Nicolás González, Robin Le Normand, and Koke to maintain the team's momentum and secure the win. Mallorca's attempts to change the game's dynamics with substitutions, including Mateu Morey and Takuma Asano, failed to yield the desired impact. Key performances included Jan Oblak (GAP +6.7%), who was instrumental in maintaining a clean sheet, and Marcos Llorente (GAP +6.6%), whose dynamic play in midfield helped control the tempo. Julián Álvarez (GAP +6.3%) also played a crucial role in linking up play and creating opportunities. This victory solidifies Atlético Madrid's position in the upper echelons of the La Liga table, enhancing their momentum as they continue to chase the top spots. For Mallorca, the defeat highlights the challenges they face in competing against the league's elite, and they will need to regroup quickly to improve their standing. Post-match reactions from the Atlético camp were positive, with players and staff expressing satisfaction with the team's performance and the result. The win reflects Atlético's growing confidence and cohesion as they progress through the season.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
