About Us

We believe the individual impact of football players cannot be measured by vanity metrics like goals, passes, tackles won or possession. Real team players influence besides their own metrics especially their team members, their opponents and as a final output the game result directly and indirectly. This is what Football GAP is about.

Game Review

Atalanta delivered a commanding performance in their Serie A clash against Lecce, securing a 3-0 victory that was largely expected given their superior form and league standing. The match, held on Monday, 6 April 2026, saw Atalanta dominate proceedings from start to finish, with goals from Giorgio Scalvini (GAP +3.4%), Nikola Krstović, and substitute Giacomo Raspadori sealing the win. The game began with Atalanta asserting their dominance early on, and it was Giorgio Scalvini who opened the scoring in the 29th minute. His contribution was crucial, as his goal set the tone for the rest of the match. Atalanta continued to press, and their efforts were rewarded again in the 59th minute when Nikola Krstović doubled their lead, showcasing his clinical finishing ability. Giacomo Raspadori, who came on as a substitute, added the third goal in the 73rd minute, effectively putting the game beyond Lecce's reach. Raspadori's impact off the bench was significant, demonstrating Atalanta's depth and tactical flexibility. In terms of tactical setup, Atalanta's manager made no changes to the starting lineup from their previous game, indicating confidence in his squad's current form. Lecce, on the other hand, also fielded the same starting eleven, but struggled to match Atalanta's intensity and quality. Key performances from Atalanta included Marco Carnesecchi (GAP +4.0%) in goal, who kept a clean sheet, and Marten de Roon (GAP +5.6%), who controlled the midfield with authority. Lecce's Wladimiro Falcone (GAP -0.9%) had a challenging day, unable to prevent the goals despite his efforts. This result solidifies Atalanta's position in the upper echelons of the Serie A table, as they continue to push for a European spot. Lecce, meanwhile, will need to regroup and address their defensive frailties if they are to improve their standing in the league. Post-match reactions highlighted Atalanta's clinical finishing and tactical discipline as key factors in their victory. The win boosts their momentum as they head into the final stretch of the season.

What is GAP?

What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?

Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.

What is GAP?

GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
