Game Review
In a crucial Serie A encounter, Torino secured a 2-0 victory over Lazio, a result that may have surprised some given the pre-match expectations. Torino, playing at home, capitalized on their chances effectively, with goals from Giovanni Simeone (GAP -0.5%) in the 21st minute and Duván Zapata (GAP +2.8%) in the 53rd minute sealing the win. The match began with Torino asserting themselves early on, and it was Simeone who broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal. Lazio struggled to find their rhythm, and despite having players like Alessio Romagnoli (GAP +1.1%) and Mattia Zaccagni (GAP +1.0%) in their ranks, they couldn't muster a significant response. Torino's defense, marshaled by Ardian Ismajli (GAP +1.3%), held firm throughout the match. Duván Zapata's goal early in the second half doubled Torino's lead, effectively putting the game beyond Lazio's reach. Zapata's performance was instrumental, and his contribution was reflected in his high Game Advantage Percentage. Both teams made several changes from their previous lineups. Torino's manager opted for a fresh approach, bringing in players like Cesare Casadei, Sandro Kulenović, and Ivan Ilic from the bench. Lazio also made tactical adjustments, introducing Boulaye Dia and Nuno Tavares, but these changes failed to alter the course of the match. This victory is a significant boost for Torino, who have been looking to climb the Serie A table. For Lazio, this defeat is a setback in their pursuit of higher league positions. The result leaves Torino in a stronger position to challenge for a top-half finish, while Lazio will need to regroup and address their inconsistencies if they are to achieve their season objectives. Post-match reactions highlighted Torino's clinical finishing and solid defensive display as key factors in their victory. The home fans will be pleased with the performance, which showcased the team's potential to compete against more fancied opponents.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
