Game Review
Inter Milan secured a solid 2-0 victory over Lecce in their Serie A clash on Saturday, 21 February 2026. The result was largely expected given Inter's superior form and squad depth, but Lecce put up a resilient fight for much of the match. The game remained goalless until the 75th minute when Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who came on as a substitute, broke the deadlock for Inter Milan. His introduction added a new dimension to Inter's attack, and his goal was a testament to the tactical adjustments made by the away team's head coach. Just seven minutes later, another substitute, Manuel Akanji, doubled Inter's lead, securing the three points and highlighting the depth of Inter's bench. In terms of player performances, Stefan de Vrij (GAP +7.3%) was instrumental in maintaining a solid defensive line for Inter, while Yann Sommer (GAP +6.7%) provided assurance between the posts. Federico Dimarco (GAP +5.9%) and Alessandro Bastoni (GAP +5.6%) also contributed significantly to Inter's defensive stability. Lecce's lineup saw several changes, with players like Lameck Banda and Nikola Štulić coming off the bench, but they struggled to break down Inter's organized defense. Wladimiro Falcone (GAP -1.3%) in goal had a challenging afternoon, facing a well-coordinated Inter attack. Inter Milan made five changes to their starting lineup, bringing in players like Manuel Akanji and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who both made crucial impacts off the bench. The reasons for these changes were not specified in post-match reports, but they proved effective in securing the win. This victory keeps Inter Milan firmly in the hunt for the Serie A title, as they continue to build momentum with consistent performances. For Lecce, the defeat means they remain in the lower half of the table, needing to find form quickly to avoid slipping further down the standings.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
