Game Review
In a tightly contested Serie A encounter, Parma and Genoa played out a goalless draw at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Sunday, 18 January 2026. The result, while not unexpected given both teams' mid-table positions, highlighted the defensive solidity and lack of cutting edge in attack from both sides. The match was characterized by a lack of clear-cut chances, with both defenses holding firm. Genoa's Alessandro Marcandalli (GAP +2.4%) was particularly impressive, contributing significantly to his team's defensive efforts. Parma's Lautaro Valenti (GAP +0.9%) also stood out, ensuring that Genoa's forwards found little joy in the final third. Both managers opted for stability in their lineups, with no changes from their previous matches. Parma introduced Benjamin Cremaschi, Sascha Britschgi, Oliver Sørensen, and Milan Đurić from the bench in an attempt to inject some creativity and energy into their play. Genoa responded with substitutions of their own, bringing on Junior Messias, Patrizio Masini, and Jeff Ekhator Osayuki, but neither side could find the breakthrough. The Game Advantage Percentage (GAP) data highlighted Stefano Sabelli (GAP +1.6%) as a key performer for Genoa, providing width and defensive cover on the right flank. For Parma, Jacob Ondrejka (GAP +1.6%) was notable for his work rate and attempts to drive forward, though he was unable to convert his efforts into tangible results. This draw leaves both teams in similar positions in the Serie A table, with Parma and Genoa continuing to hover around the mid-table. The result does little to change their trajectories, as both teams look to find more consistency in their performances to climb higher in the standings. As the season progresses, both sides will need to find more attacking impetus if they are to challenge for higher positions. Post-match reactions from both camps suggested a sense of missed opportunity, with both managers acknowledging the need for improvement in front of goal. The focus will now shift to their upcoming fixtures, where they will aim to convert draws into victories.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
