Game Review
In a tightly contested Serie A encounter, Napoli and Parma played out a goalless draw at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Despite the home side's dominance in possession and attempts, they were unable to break down a resilient Parma defense. This result might come as a surprise to some, given Napoli's strong home form and higher league standing compared to Parma. The match lacked clear-cut chances, with both defenses standing firm. Napoli's Amir Rrahmani (GAP +6.4%) was particularly impressive at the back, ensuring that Parma's attacking threats, including Patrick Cutrone (GAP -0.7%), were kept at bay. On the other hand, Scott McTominay (GAP +6.0%) was pivotal in Napoli's midfield, controlling the tempo and trying to create opportunities for his teammates. Parma's defensive setup was well-organized, with Lautaro Valenti (GAP +0.9%) and Alessandro Circati (GAP +0.3%) playing crucial roles in maintaining the clean sheet. Vanja Milinković-Savić (GAP +0.5%) in goal for Napoli was rarely troubled, but his presence was reassuring for the home side. In terms of lineup changes, Napoli's manager made several substitutions, bringing in Antonio Vergara, Lorenzo Lucca, Eljif Elmas, David Neres, and Leonardo Spinazzola to try and inject some creativity and energy into the side. Parma's head coach also made tactical adjustments, introducing Mateo Pellegrino, Emanuele Valeri, Adrian Benedyczak, Adrián Bernabé, and Enrico Del Prato, likely to maintain their defensive solidity and counter-attacking threat. This draw leaves Napoli in a challenging position as they aim to keep pace with the league leaders. Meanwhile, Parma will be pleased with a point away from home, which could be crucial in their quest to climb the Serie A table. Both teams will need to reassess their strategies as they prepare for their next fixtures, with Napoli looking to convert their possession into goals and Parma aiming to build on this solid defensive performance.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
