About Us

We believe the individual impact of football players cannot be measured by vanity metrics like goals, passes, tackles won or possession. Real team players influence besides their own metrics especially their team members, their opponents and as a final output the game result directly and indirectly. This is what Football GAP is about.

Game Review

In a stunning Serie A encounter, Como dismantled Torino with a resounding 6-0 victory on Saturday, 24 January 2026. This result was unexpected given Torino's stature in the league, but Como's clinical performance left no room for doubt. The match began with Como setting the tone early. Tasos Douvikas (GAP +0.7%) opened the scoring in the 8th minute, setting the stage for a dominant display. Martin Baturina doubled the lead in the 16th minute, and from there, Como never looked back. Lucas Da Cunha added a third goal in the 59th minute, effectively sealing the game. The floodgates truly opened in the final third of the match. Nicolas Kühn, who came on as a substitute, scored in the 70th minute, followed by Maxence Caqueret's goal in the 76th minute. Douvikas capped off the scoring with his second goal in the 66th minute, highlighting his standout performance. Como's lineup featured several key players, including Jean Butez (GAP +4.6%) in goal, who was instrumental in maintaining a clean sheet. The defensive solidity was complemented by the attacking prowess of players like Maximo Perrone (GAP +4.3%) and Álex Valle (GAP +3.7%), who controlled the midfield and provided crucial support. Torino, on the other hand, struggled to find any rhythm. Despite having players like Che Adams (GAP -0.3%) and Nikola Vlašić (GAP -1.4%) in their ranks, they were unable to penetrate Como's defense. The Torino head coach made four substitutions, bringing in Rafa Obrador, Guillermo Maripán, Duván Zapata, and Faustino Anjorin, but these changes failed to alter the course of the match. This victory propels Como up the Serie A table, providing a significant boost to their confidence and momentum. For Torino, this heavy defeat could be a wake-up call, as they need to reassess their strategies and bounce back in the coming fixtures.

What is GAP?

What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?

Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.

What is GAP?

GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
