About Us

We believe the individual impact of football players cannot be measured by vanity metrics like goals, passes, tackles won or possession. Real team players influence besides their own metrics especially their team members, their opponents and as a final output the game result directly and indirectly. This is what Football GAP is about.

Game Review

In a thrilling La Liga encounter, Osasuna and Mallorca played out a 2-2 draw on Saturday, 7 March 2026. The match, held at Osasuna's home ground, saw a dramatic conclusion with both teams scoring in the final minutes to share the spoils. This result was somewhat unexpected given Osasuna's recent form, which had seen them struggle to secure points consistently. The game began with Mallorca taking the lead in the 35th minute through Vedat Muriqi (GAP +0.5%), who found the back of the net with a well-placed shot. Muriqi doubled his tally in the 61st minute, putting Mallorca in a commanding position. However, the match took a turn when Osasuna's Raúl García received a red card in the 82nd minute, reducing the home side to ten men. Despite being a man down, Osasuna mounted a spirited comeback. Kike Barja, who came on as a substitute, scored in the 89th minute to give the home fans hope. Just a minute later, Ante Budimir (GAP +2.0%) completed the comeback with a dramatic equalizer in the 90th minute, ensuring Osasuna salvaged a point from the match. Tactically, Osasuna's manager made five changes to the starting lineup, bringing in Raul Moro, Raúl García, Moi Gómez, Kike Barja, and Juan Cruz. These changes seemed to inject fresh energy into the team, particularly in the latter stages of the match. Mallorca's head coach also made five substitutions, including the introduction of Jan Virgili, who was later sent off with a red card in the 73rd minute, leveling the playing field in terms of numbers. The Game Advantage Percentage (GAP) statistics highlighted Javi Galán (GAP +3.2%) as a key performer for Osasuna, while Mallorca's Pablo Maffeo (GAP +0.4%) also had a notable impact. The result leaves Osasuna needing to improve their consistency as they aim to climb the La Liga table, while Mallorca will be disappointed not to have secured all three points after leading for much of the match. Overall, the draw reflects the competitive nature of La Liga this season, with both teams showing resilience and determination. Osasuna will look to build on this result in their upcoming fixtures, while Mallorca will aim to tighten their defense to avoid similar late-game slip-ups.

What is GAP?

What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?

Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.

What is GAP?

GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
