Game Review
Sassuolo delivered a commanding performance in their Serie A clash against Hellas Verona, securing a 3-0 victory at home. This result was largely expected given Sassuolo's stronger form and squad depth compared to their opponents. The match saw Domenico Berardi (GAP +2.3%) shine with a brace, while Andrea Pinamonti (GAP +1.4%) also found the net, contributing significantly to the team's success. The game began with Sassuolo asserting their dominance early on. Andrea Pinamonti opened the scoring in the 40th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse from Hellas Verona. Just before halftime, Domenico Berardi doubled the lead with a well-taken goal in the 44th minute, putting Sassuolo in a comfortable position going into the break. In the second half, Sassuolo continued to control the game, and Berardi struck again in the 62nd minute to seal the victory. His performance was instrumental, showcasing his ability to influence the game significantly. Hellas Verona struggled to find their rhythm throughout the match, and their woes were compounded by a red card for Al-Musrati (GAP -3.8%) in the 85th minute, which effectively ended any hopes of a comeback. Tactically, Sassuolo's manager made no changes to the starting lineup from their previous match, indicating confidence in the squad's current form. In contrast, Hellas Verona's head coach introduced several changes, bringing in players like Daniel Akinbiyi Oyegoke and Tomáš Suslov as substitutes, but these adjustments failed to alter the course of the game. This victory solidifies Sassuolo's position in the upper half of the Serie A table, boosting their momentum as they aim for a strong finish to the season. Meanwhile, Hellas Verona will need to regroup quickly to avoid slipping further down the standings, as they continue to search for consistency in their performances.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
